50th Birthday Fun Thoughts and Ideas

By Gail Leino When youve reached that 50th birthday you may find yourself wondering where all the time went to. Just yesterday you were twenty-five and living large, now you feel a little tired. Make up for lost time with a big 50th birthday party. The half century mark shouldnt be a time to sit back, but instead to get up and move around. A stand up cocktail party can provide the elegance some prefer for this big event. Its easy to purchase plenty of 50th birthday party napkins for guests to use at the event. You can even find some light up wine and champagne glasses to add a little glow to your event. Hanging dangles from the ceiling will reflect the lights in the room. To really add some spark to your birthday you can celebrate it with lots of golden decorations. Maybe even turn it into a Safari Party or Pirate celebration and your guests will get to go on a hunt for golden treasure. Dont worry about this being too childish, everyone should take the time to act like a kid now and then. Bring in some plastic coins to spread around the tables and make a golden yellow cake. Guests sometimes surprise the soon-to-be fifty year old with their own surprise party. This can be intended to poke light fun at the guest of honors Over the Hill status. A birthday cake shaped like a tombstone or coffin can bring some ironic giggles. Gag gifts such as an old age care basket filled with Adult diapers, Aspercream, and reading glasses with really thick lenses will get lots of laughs from the guests and hopefully the receiver. Black and gray colored decorations can add to the theme. Get black streamers to hang from the ceiling. And a banner with a funny Over the Hill saying to hang above the buffet table. Fruit that Lasts

By Mark E. Baker God’s Word has a lot to say about fruit and bearing fruit. I would like to start out by talking about what fruit is. Fruit is what comes at harvest time. Fruit is the end result of our faith. Fruit is what the Father wants from us. What steps must we take to produce fruit in our lives? Do we produce it on our own? We should want to understand what fruit is and why it is so important to have it born in our lives. Jesus said in John’s GospelJohn 15:3-8. “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. We see that it is the Father’s will that we bear much fruit. Bearing fruit is what discipleship is all about. It is a result of abiding in Gods Word and having God’s Word abide in us. Jesus calls this discipleship. He who does not bear fruit will be cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. That sounds very serious. God is glorified when we bear fruit so that is something I want to do. I want to glorify God. When harvest time comes I want there to be a harvest of fruit in my life. I want fruit that lasts. So what must we do to be productive and fruitful, thus becoming a disciple of Christ? First of all we hear His Word. Secondly His Word must abide in us and we must abide in Him. No fruit will be produced if these things dont happen. Jesus talks about this in the 8th chapter of Luke. I would like to take a close look at the parable of the sower. Jesus is giving us instructions on how we can bear fruit. Since these are the Lord’s instructions on fruit bearing, we should pay close attention. He is giving these instructions so that we will bear fruit. So let’s take a look. Luke 8:5-8. The sower went forth to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden under foot, and the birds of the heaven devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear! When His disciples asked Him about it He said to them, vss.10-18. To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. And the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, (keep it) and bear fruit with patience. No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.” First of all we see that the seed is the Word of God. The seed was created by God for the sole purpose that the end result will be a harvest. This is the purpose for the seed. The seed would be no good if it were not capable of germinating growing and bearing fruit would it? What would be the purpose of the seed if it could not reproduce after its own kind. Life always produces life. Without the seed there could be no fruit. The seed sown into good soil represents firstly, those who bring a noble and good heart to the hearing of the Word, and secondly those who hold fast or keep the Word, the end result being a harvest. You dont get the harvest without hearing the Word with a noble and good heart, and then holding fast to what you have heard. The New English Translation says it like this. Vs.15. but the seed in good soil represents those who bring a good and honest heart to the hearing of the Word, hold it fast, and by their perseverance yield a harvest. I think that says it a little clearer. Jesus is saying in order to preserve the seed you have to hold it fast. Only the preserved seed will yield fruit, and seed that is not preserved will not yield. There is certainly nothing wrong with the seed. This seed we are talking about is the Word of God, yet the seed cant produce on its own. Only when it is sown into fertile soil. Jesus is giving us instruction and insight on how to have fertile soil coupled with the seed to produce a harvest in our lives. God’s Word is good seed and will always produce when the soil is fertile, always. But God’s Word must be sown into hearts that are capable of preserving that which it received. In turn this enables the seed to germinate and grow, and to eventually bear fruit. There are types of soil that will not preserve the seed. Jesus talks about these. Our hearts are the soil. Our hearts must be good and honest and capable of receiving. The problem is the dirt. What kind of dirt will allow the seed to be preserved so that we can get a harvest? In order for seed to grow in the natural there must be fertile soil, the right amount of moisture and then nutrients in the soil for the seed to germinate so that it will eventually grow. Jesus talks about the dirt. He says what bad dirt is and what good dirt is. This is the thing that we have control over, and must work to cultivate. Jesus said some people have stony hearts, the seed lays on the stone and withers and dies. Is this the fault of the seed? No its not the seeds fault. Its not the seed that fails, the seed will never fail when planted in good dirt. The condition of the ground is what causes the seed to either wither and die, or produce fruit. Gardeners know this. You cant sow your corn seeds out on the driveway and expect to go back out there in several months and pick a bushel of corn can you? Yet the same seed sown into fertile soil will produce. Whether the seed sown is for salvation, healing, deliverance, or whatever the issues of life, you must preserve the seed in order for it to grow. We the body of Christ must lay hold of this important truth. These are Jesus instructions for our faith to produce. We must preserve the seed at all cost! This is what Solomon was saying in the book of proverbs. Proverbs 4:20. My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; 22. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. 23. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Out of what springs the issues of life? Out of your heart, out of the soil the Word of God was sown into. This is what vs. 21 was saying, keep them in the midst of your heart. Keep the seed. Preserve the seed at all cost!!!! Guard your heart, out of it flows the issues of life. This is where the fruit grows. This is where the issues of life come from. I want to have lasting fruit in my life, lasting fruit is not fruit that will perish with this world but fruit that will go on for eternity. The fruit that perishes is the fruit of the flesh but the fruit that lasts is the fruit of love. Paul said to the Corinthians 1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. What ever we do if it is not sown in love there will be no profit. Sow in love and reap. Paul said to the Philippians I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. The Philippians were disciples of Paul and he earnestly wanted for them to bear much fruit. We can see that it was Pauls desire to see them grow, mature, and produce the fruit that God wanted them to produce, he said this because he had the same desires as his Heavenly Father. Our Father wants us all to bear lasting fruit. That is His desire, and should be ours as well. My hearts desire is to sow life into others even as I have received, not only to sow into others but sow into others who will in turn sow into others themselves. As you have received, I encourage you to guard your heart, let the seed grow and flourish and produce fruit, and in your turn sow that seed into someone else’s life. This truly is the fruit that lasts. You can start the process if you have never received Jesus as your Lord and Savior by taking that first step now. If you want to know for sure that you are a child of God, then I would like to invite you to earnestly pray this prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. (Jn.6:37), So I know You wont cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Ro. 10:13). I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. (Ro.10:9,10). I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, with the heart one believes to righteousness and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21), And I am saved! Thank You, Lord! I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God! Glory to God!!!! Amen. I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God’s call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979, The Lord has called me to teach. I want to help other come to a knowledge of the truth and have started a web site for the purpose of teaching and discipleship called The Olive Branch; Mark E. Ephedra Is Back – But Is It Safe?

By Amy S. Grant Its been called the worlds oldest medicine, the miracle fat burner, and is known in some parts of the U.S. as Mormon tea. Ephedra (also called Ma-huang or epitonin) has been used for its healing powers for more than 5000 years by the Chinese, who discovered the plants healing properties. So why was it banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2004, and more importantly, why was the ban recently lifted? What is Ephedra? Ephedra grows all over the world, and in the Western United States, this flowering shrub can be found in deserts and sagebrush areas. The plant can be ground into powder for capsules, or dried and used in tea. Ephedrine is the active ingredient in ephedra, responsible for its healing properties. Ephedrine is a nerve stimulant similar to adrenaline, but not as strong as amphetamine. What Does It Do? Dieters have long known the powerful effects of ephedra in promoting weight loss. Basically, ephedrine creates a thermogenic response, speeding up metabolism and expediting the bodys fat burning rate while preserving muscle. Ephedra has proved to be particularly effective for people with a slow metabolism, who have previously had trouble losing weight. Additionally, ephedrine can be used to treat bronchial asthma and cough by relaxing the air passages in the lungs. For this same reason, the plant is helpful in treating the effects allergies and hay fever. Ephedra can assist in fighting a minor cold by causing perspiration and urination (to relieve swelling and fluid retention). Alternative uses for ephedra include treating muscle and joint conditions such as bursitis, arthritis, and rheumatism. A synthetic (man-made) replacement, called pseudoephedrine, was created and is widely used in common over-the-counter medications such as Sudafed. Why the Ban? Possible side effects of ephedrine include insomnia, dry mouth, nervousness, general weakness, poor digestion, irritability, headache, dizziness, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, and heart palpitations. Not surprisingly, this list is markedly similar to over-the-counter medications with the active ingredient pseudoephedrine. Some argue that the pharmaceutical companies have organized lobbyists to target ephedra because it was cutting into their sales for weight loss drugs and asthma drugs (bronchodilators). Others believe ephedra is not dangerous, but simply got some bad press as a result of a handful of people who intentionally misused ephedra or a synthetic replication of the isolated part of ephedra (ephedrine). Ephedra activists insist that human nature simply cannot be regulated and no one can control how people use (or abuse) any supplement, herb, or drug. How can you protect customers who ignore warning labels or double their doses? The FDA inflicted a ban on ephedra in late 2003 (which became effective in early 2004), declaring an unreasonable risk. This decision was based on public comments, literature review, adverse event reports and scientific studies. Dieters were devastated, feeling that their right to safely and appropriately use this herb had been stripped from them. Why Was the Ban Lifted? After the conclusion of several court cases (including some high-profile cases), the FDA stated in its final ruling that only five deaths were attributed solely and directly to ephedra. Keep in mind, according to the American Herbal Products Association, approximately 12 to 17 million people consumed ephedra during 1999. Ephedra sales in 2002 were close to $1.3 billion. What you may not know is that in 1994, over 100,000 people died due to adverse reactions or overconsumption of prescription drugs. Is Ephedra Safe to Use? According to the FDA, ephedra is safe for human consumption when it is taken in the recommended dosages, and when all warning labels are strictly observed. Obviously, women who are pregnant or nursing, and people with certain diseases (such as high blood pressure) should NOT consume ephedra or ephedrine. It is advised that you check with your physician before taking ephedra. Where Can You Get Ephedra? Currently, one company claims to be the only U.S. supplier of ephedra for weight loss. You can purchase ephedra online at www.BetaFuelDirect.com Amy S. Grant is an avid fitness enthusiast who enjoys SCUBA diving, photography, and empowering people to achieve their goals. Flower Girls Role In Wedding

By Dennis Estrada The flower girl is a young girl between the ages of three to eight. In the wedding, the flower girl walks up the aisle with a basket full of petals of flowers. The petals which are usually rose petals are spread or scatter on the way of the wedding aisle. This prepares for the entrance of the bride. If the bride and groom know many sweet young girls, there may be one or more flower girl. The petals are meant to bring good luck to the bride. So, the more flower girls mean more good luck. The flower girl baskets are made of bride and groom choice of fabric, colors, and scents. The cute baskets can easily be wedding keepsake. And, you can customize a special flower girl basket as heirloom set to pass for generations to come. A variety of butterfly and flower can be sewn to add excitement to the basket. The flower girl dresses can resemble the bride or bridesmaids. The comfort and feel of the dress is a big factor in choosing a dress. Young kids are easily agitated and irritated with discomforting scratchy dress. The length of the dress depends on how formal the wedding. The general rule is longer for more formal wedding event. If the young girl is too young, you may choose a shorter length to avoid tripping. The flower girl shoes may be uncomfortable for unused or brand new shoes. You may want to let her wear a few times to get used to the shoes. Or, you may slip the shoes at the very last minute. A good pair of shoes goes a long way. For younger flower girl, she needs many practices. She may get disoriented and distracted easily. The rule is to make her wedding roles a game or fun. So, she is calm, and relaxed in the wedding day. As a thank you, the bride and groom may give gifts to the flower girls. Jewelries, dolls, accessories, purses, and treats make good flower girl gift ideas. With the flower girls on lovely little dress and basket, the flower girls easily steal the show. More importantly, the flower girls complement the bride on this special occasion. The flower girl spruces up the wedding with special innocence, fun, and charm. How To Setup Your Own Article Directory And Get Flooded With Sales, Leads & Commissions!

By Tuks Engineer Its hardly a secret anymore. Creating articles and submitting them to article directories is now recognised as efficient, main stream marketing. Thousands of smart marketers actively seek out directories and submit to them daily as part of their marketing plan. Flip open any generic internet marketing book and youll see entire chapters on promoting via article submissions. In fact entire eBooks, courses and software have been developed to help harness the power of article marketing. Now heres the interesting thing. Everyone who uses articles hungrily seeks out new article directories to submit to. Most internet marketing sites have a list of directories on their site to help their users identify available article directories. Imagine- thousands of people searching for article directories. Countless more searching for content to populate their websites with. Yet the number of article directories online remains relatively small. Right now is the ideal time to set up an article directory for yourself. Here are just a few ways that this can benefit your business: * Literally tens of thousands of influential site owners are looking for valuable content that they can use for their sites. It’s gold-dust to them. Similarly, several thousands of marketers, authors, resellers and affiliates are hungrily looking for article directories to submit to. Both are desperate to find, use and return to your article directory…again and again (and again)! * Your directory site could have Adsense and other affiliate ads and create a nice hands off residual income. * You can capture the prospects as leads(eg. Contributers need to register before posting articles) to build your list. * You can create special highly targeted niche article directories. You could put up highly targeted big-ticket affiliate products that can increase your commission checks significantly. If you already have an in-house product you can promote it directly on your directory to prospects that you know will be interested in the offer. * You could even create and sell directories as a business in itself. When you have the correct script its very simple to do, yet one simple directory can fetch hundreds of dollars when sold to a small business or entrepreneur who may not want to learn to do it themselves. If you think that setting up your own article directory involves extreme expense in hiring a programmer or special technical skills to do it yourself, you may be pleasantly surprised. You can use point and click software to get your directory up and running in just minutes. Now well look at the art of marketing the article directories that you create. The good thing is that because directories are in such demand this should not be particularly difficult. Here are just some of the ways you can publicise your directory: * Participate in relevant forums and leave your article directory details in your signature. This is also a great way of getting exposure for your main business too. * Contact influential personalities in your niche and inform them that you have a new article directory that they (and their prospects) may find interesting. * Find article directory directories and submit to these they will give you exposure to thousands of people who are searching for specific directories. * Use your own traffic resources let your list/blog/forum know that you have a new directory. * You should already know that building a successful business online means cultivating relationships online. Hopefully you will have built up a select few JV partners who you are on exceptionally good terms with. Ask them to post a few articles to get your directory going. One thing is clear- using article submissions as a marketing tactic is a long term trend that will be around long into the future. So is using contents of articles to populate website. Everyone wants to be where the traffic is thats exactly why the next big trend that the gurus will tout as a marketing gem is article directory ownership and they would be dead right. There are huge gains to be made by establishing your directory now long before anyone finds out what a gold mine they represent. How To Buy Orchids Flower – Expert Tips For Gardening Enthusiasts

By Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian Buy your orchids as soon as they appear in the stores when they are fresh from the nursery, and the blooms will last for weeks. When buying your orchid plant, first examine it carefully. The plant may have been healthy and fit when it left the grower, but if conditions have not been right since then, the buds may be yellow and shriveled. These will drop off and the plant should be avoided. FOLIAGE This should be clean, a deep green colour and not floppy and dehydrated. LEAVES Check the undersides for any bugs that may be hiding there. FLOWERSPIKES Make sure that they are staked correctly and that some buds are unopened. COMPOST Examine the surface to make sure that there are no dead roots showing, which indicates that the root system is not healthy. Always ask the sales staff to provide some growing information for you. Even a short leaflet will help you with its care. Having an expert, experienced grower giving you extra tips and information on fertilizing, light requirement and watering can make a huge difference. Mail order suppliers on the World Wide Web and orchid societies give you the benefit of compiled advice of several experienced growers. HOW DOES YOUR ORCHID REACH THE STORE? In the past, a nursery man would raise his own plants, growing them through all stages of development and retailing them directly to customers. Today, things are very different. Mericloning- the method of mass propagation has led to an unparalleled number of orchids reaching the store. Only the very best varieties are chosen when the main stem tip or nucleus of growing cells is removed from the plant and cultured in laboratories. Millions of orchid plants are produced in huge laboratories each year. When young, these plants are sold to a grower who will take them to near flowering size. From here, they will be passed on to yet another nursery man who will bring them to bloom. Finally, they will be sold to a retail outlet. From start to finish, the orchid plant may have traveled half way around the world before reaching a store near you. With the increased popularity of orchids as house plants, many people buy them, enjoy the flowers and then throw the plant away. This is a waste, because with correct care and attention, an orchid can continue to flower and reflower in its season for several years. So take care to choose a plant and then plan to enjoy it in the years ahead. Buy Orchid Flowers after reading more guides and informative articles about orchid flowers and plants. No Credit Check Cash Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kristy_Annely]Kristy Annely In no credit check cash loans, a credit may be either revocable or irrevocable. The credit should therefore clearly indicate whether it is revocable or irrevocable. A revocable credit is one which can be cancelled or amended by the issuing bank at any time without prior notice to the beneficiary. The cancellation, or amendment, takes effect against the bank that has negotiated bills under the credit only on receipt of notice of such cancellation. The issuing is liable for bills negotiated conforming to the terms and conditions of the credit before the notice of revocation is received by the negotiating bank. A revocable credit may be amended or cancelled by the issuing bank at any moment and without prior notice to the beneficiary. However, the issuing bank is bound to reimburse another bank with which a revocable credit has been made available for sight payment, acceptance or negotiation- for such payment, acceptance or negotiation made by the bank prior to receipt by it of notice of amendment or cancellation, against documents which appear on their face to be in compliance with the terms and conditions of the credit. Also, the issuing bank is bound to reimburse another bank with which a revocable credit has been made available for deferred payment, if such a bank has, prior to receipt by it of notice of amendment or cancellation, taken up documents which appear on their face to be in compliance with the terms and conditions of the credit. Since there is no definite undertaking by the issuing bank in a revocable credit, there is not much of a benefit under the credit to the individual. If the credit is advised to him by the opening bank direct, it may be cancelled by the issuing bank at any time, without prior notice. Top Food And Gourmet Magazines

By Joel Simkhai Delicacies in one country are looked upon in disgust in others. What one person likes can turn another persons stomach. Cuisines differ across the globe and are primarily influenced by the ingredients that are available locally. Iguanas meat is considered a refined, South American dish. Understanding Your Nose Before Getting Rhinoplasty

By Ricardo Silva An enhancement to a persons nose is one of the more popular plastic surgery procedures performed. If you are considering it, you should first know how the nose is comprised. While breast enhancements are certainly the first thing people think of when plastic surgery is mentioned, nose jobs are almost as popular. If you are unhappy with your nose, it is pretty hard to compartmentalize your unhappiness. As the old saying goes, your nose is front and center. Every time you look in the mirror, there it is. That being said, any consideration of rhinoplasty first requires you to understand the anatomy of the nose. Despite the relatively small size, your nose is a complex anatomical structure. The first structures are the nasal bones. They are part of the skull. To the surprise of many, they do not extend to the point of your nose. Instead, you can feel them between your eyes with your fingers as well as they fact they only extend about a third of the way down your nose. The remainder of the nose structure is formed by cartilage, a flexible material that is nonetheless strong. When a person breaks their nose, they usually break the cartilage. The internal space of your nose performs important functions. It allows for the passage of air in and out. At the same time, it is set up to filter the air by providing a mucous barrier along the walls. Oh, and the nose is key for smelling as well! The entire structure is divided into two passages by the nasal septum. The connection at the very tip of your nose is known by the name columella. It is the vertical structure running from the tip of your nose down to the top of your lip. Although you might not realize it, your nose can really inhibit you if there is a problem. The most common problems occur with the septum, the wall dividing the nostrils. If your septum is broken or perforated, it can inhibit your breathing and increase snoring. It can also reveal itself on the outer surface of the nose as a lump or crook. With Rhinoplasty, a surgeon works to reshape your nose. There are many ways to do this, but most involve the modification of the nasal bones and cartilage. In general, a nose job will not involve incisions on the exterior of your nose, meaning there is little scaring risk. Instead, the surgeon will usually operate up through your nasal passages. Refinements are made by removing or adding cartilage. Ricardo de Silva is with PlasticSurgeonPractices.com – a directory of plastic surgeon practices.
